What our parents and teacher say to us means a lot. Read about some of the great experiences our families and teacher have had with us.

I was very nervous about leaving my baby at daycare for the first time, but the staff at Small World is amazing! From personal phone calls at home congratulating us on her birth, to inviting us to have “pop-in visits” during my maternity leave where she and I could hang out in the room and get to know the routines and teachers, to encouraging me to call or e-mail for updates as much as I felt I wanted to...they made me comfortable knowing I had chosen the right place for my child.

It was challenging to return to work after having my baby, but the staff at Small World made it easy for me in every way that they could. They assured me that they were familiar with the differences in handling breast milk (versus formula), offered a ‘nursing area’ for when I picked her up so that we could nurse before I put her in the car, respected my requests about when to introduce new foods, and always asked or encouraged me to share information about how my daughter liked to be held or played with.

My babies were both small when they were born, so it was always scary to think about dropping them off at day care. The teachers at Small World were stellar, though, and made the transition as smooth as possible. They swaddled the girls to help them sleep, carried them in a sling on days when they cried a lot, and spent lots of time smiling and talking to them. I know that my girls were just as well-cared-for at Small World as they would have been at home.

The teaching curriculum at Small World is top notch! It’s so fun to get daily emails sharing the activities of the day and what the kids are doing. Seeing Shutterfly pictures always makes my day! Some days I wonder how they can fit all of it in, because my girls come home talking about things they did, they saw, where they went, the games they played, the art/music they created...what a wonderful experience!

The administrative staff at Small World are very considerate and mindful about what is in the best interest of our children. It’s inevitable for things like teacher turn-over to happen occasionally at a facility, but the staff takes it upon themselves to make changes easy and not stressful for our kids. I also appreciate that the center is a great place for me to get information about recalls or other dangers our kids may be exposed to at home, flu shot clinics in our area, educational opportunities for parents and even social events for parents to mingle.

My husband and I have considered moving to a different area, but we both agree that we are staying put until both of our kids finish day care with Small World. There’s no way another center could measure up to our expectations after the great experiences we’ve had.
